Vivenge Named Patron of the 11th International Traditional Carriage Driving Competition

Traditional Carriage Driving: Art, History, and Style

Traditional carriage driving is a unique discipline that combines elements of history, elegance, and precision. Competitors are judged not only on their technical skills in driving horse-drawn carriages, but also on the historical authenticity and aesthetic quality of the entire presentation. Every detail—from the design and condition of the carriage, to the attire of the drivers—is carefully assessed, making each event a true spectacle of tradition and style.

This year’s edition of the International Traditional Carriage Driving Competition named after Princess Daisy von Pless, along with the 1st Polish Championships in Traditional Driving, will take place in the breathtaking setting of Książ Castle in Wałbrzych, from 18–20 July 2025. This prestigious event brings together drivers from across Europe, as well as enthusiasts of horses, history, and classical craftsmanship.

The international traditional carriage driving competition in Celle

Traditional Carriage Driving: Art, History and Sport

Traditional carriage driving is a discipline that combines elements of history, elegance and precision. Participants not only have to demonstrate their ability to drive a horse-drawn carriage, but also ensure that everything from vehicles to costumes reflect the spirit of the era from which it originated. Every detail is evaluated, ranging from the drivers’ costumes to the technical and aesthetic condition of the carriages, making the traditional carriage driving competitions not only a sports challenge, but also a spectacle full of vintage charm.

This year’s competition in Celle is an opportunity to see the best carriage drivers from all over the world in action. The city, renowned for its rich history and beautiful architecture, provides the perfect backdrop for such an event.
